Unplugged: Rebecca Black goes acoustic to prove she's not Auto-Tune-reliant
To all the haters -- you know who you are, the ones who dissed poor little viral princess Rebecca Black when her video single "Friday" hit the Internet last week -- check this out. Turns out Miss Black does not need Auto-Tune to carry a tune. And while we're thinking she'd probably have been rejected as "not ready yet" by "Idol" judges (despite uncharacteristically kind words from former judge Simon Cowell), this acoustic version -- which aired on ABC's "Good Morning America" on Friday (March 18) -- of her surprise hit proves that she isn't completely devoid of talent. (It does not, however, prove that the song's lyrics are any less dumb than they sounded the first time around.)
Living room: conquered. Next up: mall tour!
P.S.: Is it just us, or does Rebecca look a little like a mini, well-nourished Angelina Jolie in this clip?

I'm sorry, bu she's sill terrible. I'm not trying to break the girl's dream, because she seems really really sweet, but oh dear.
lol the song sounds even worse acoustic.
Oh. My.
Seriously? I mean, seriously? Is this for real? Did those guys exchange a high-five? Was it really because they think they "nailed" it, or because they're 40 year olds in a room of 13 year olds?
This is too much for me. I need to go lay down...
you are right, she looks like Angelina Jolie. I bet she will make it big in Hollywod, her beauty is stunning!!! NOT bad song!
She can technically carry the tune, but there's something strange about her voice, in my opinion. It's not something I want to listen to, if I can avoid it. And those lyrics... just stupid.
Still, the internet has given her a shot at a career, for better or worse, and she's trying to take advantage of that. Can't blame her.

I gotta feeling (woo-hoo). That tonight's gonna be a good night. That tonight's gonna be a good night. That tonight's gonna be a good good night.
Which is to say- not the dumbest lyrics I've heard in the past couple years. Not even that far off the mark for what sells.
Not saying that this kid is great...she just doesn't deserve all this press.
Uh yea shes not the worst sounding singer but she sure isnt great or even good by any means. More like average. I know this song isnt for me and its for teens so of course I dont like it at all. Just maybe she should have done it with real singing instead of auto tune crap.
What was the point of this performance? Not sure if this is a sign of courage, stupidity or lack of taste and mercy for the public's ears. I agree the producers originally screwed up by cranking out yet another annoying electriFRIED Auto-Tuned song that sounded part human, part C3PO. But to make an "acoustic" version with obligatory annoying kids pumping their fists on cue and weird adults acting like surrogate helicopter parents will not sufficiently make amends for the original train wreck. Why not let this tragedy die a quick death and pretend this never happened. Then when Rebbecca turns 18 she has a chance to live a normal adult life. Society needs to stop rewarding train wrecks for their morbid curiosity fix and stop paying attention to every spoiled brat who thinks they can pick up a mic and become celebrity royalty.
Liz Kelly Nelson i know you want to praise this little girl because people are so "mean" with her on internet, youtube boards but come on she doesn't look like Angelina Jolie at all, and she doesn't know what singing means..But i am pretty sure she is a nice teenager. Just go back to school Rebecca and live your nice teen life.
