'The Hunger Games': 'Weeds' Hunter Parrish confirms he's in the running for Peeta
There are plenty of actors we wouldn't want to play Peeta in "The Hunger Games," but "Weeds" actor Hunter Parrish isn't one of them. In fact, we're thrilled to hear he's officially up for the part of the male tribute from District 12!
"I've met the producers," Parrish tells E! Online. "I'd be grateful to get the opportunity. Like, really grateful. It would be amazing."
Sure, other guys have confirmed they've met with the producers (cough, Alex Pettyfer), but we can definitely cast our vote for Parrish as big fans of the handsome actor who has grown up in front of our eyes as Silas Botwin on the Showtime series. And, Parrish says he's honored by the support.
"You don't get much better than that, the true fans of the book," he says. "So regardless of whether I'm a part of the film or not, I feel honored to just sort of be thought of. I read the books all last year, and I guess they're starting filming soon."
Parrish has his own picks for who should play Katniss opposite him, but they seem to have more to do with age than acting skill.
"If it's Jennifer [Lawrence], man, sign me up!" the 23-year-old actor says of the 20-year-old reported frontrunner for the part. "I think if it ended up being Hailee Steinfeld or Saoirse [Ronan] or who's the other one? Abigail Breslin. Then it would be weird. It would be really weird."

Amazing choice. He is Peeta. I hope Lionsgate & Debra Zane listen to the fandom on this one. Parrish=Peeta
I know that everyone's saying he's too old for the part or whatever, but his acting skills and looks spell PEETA! He just has that natural charm and charisma to portray the kind and sweet love interest of Katniss. He's like the kinder and more open side of Katniss, so he would be amazing as Peeta. I once thought that Alex Pettyfer would be the perfect Peeta, but he seems to be showing zero interest in the BOOKS and he's so rigid and closed in. Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress, but she just isn't what I envisioned as Katniss. They need to pick a fairly unknown actress as Katniss, but here are some suggestions depending on age, physique and whatnot.

Suzanne and Casting Director Gary have met Alex, Hunter, Josh. Why not meet other actors Liam and Chord and have them audition for the role? So that they’ll be able to pick the best Peeta for Jennifer/Katniss.
These last two actors were fanss favorite. I have seen their names always being mentioned any articles i have read/blogs about hunger games
