Stone Cold Steve Austin back in WWE: More greatest hits for WrestleMania

First there was The Rock. Then Triple H made his return. Now Stone Cold Steve Austin is back in the WWE.

Austin made his much-anticipated return to a WWE ring on "Raw" Monday (March 7), signing on to be a guest referee at WrestleMania XXVII. Like The Rock did a few weeks ago, Austin ran through a couple of his signature moves and phrases in his return, disrupting a segment with announcer Michael Cole (who will battle Jerry "The King" Lawler at WrestleMania) and JBL, who was planning to be the guest referee.

One Stone Cold Stunner, several guzzled beers and a "Gimme a 'Hell yeah'" later, though, Austin had inked his name to the ref's contract, and another of the WWE's greatest stars from the late '90s and early aughts was back in the fold. Not that he's been that far away: Austin retired as a wrestler a few years back, but he's made a handful of appearances since then. He's also hosting the next incarnation of the reality show "WWE Tough Enough," which premieres April 4 (the night after WrestleMania) on USA.
