Stephen Colbert to sing 'Friday' on 'Jimmy Fallon'; Donors Choose benefits
Stephen Colbert is set to perform Rebecca Black's "Friday" on (haha!) Friday on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon." It all started when Jimmy Fallon noticed Colbert auctioned off a portrait of himself and raised $26,000 for Donors Choose. He then proclaimed that Fallon was to match the amount, which Fallon never said he'd do.
So Colbert drops by "Late Night" and the schtick continues until Fallon says that Colbert will perform "Friday" if his viewers raise the $26,000 by Friday. Well, the amount has been met, as Fallon announced Wednesday morning via Twitter - "We did it!!!!! Whoo-hoo!!!!!! Thanks!!!!"
Followed closely by, "Thank you, everyone!!! We did it!!! Stephen Colbert will (has to) sing "Friday" this Friday on our show!! Awesome!! #26000 #donorschoose."
Should be fun. Also, when charity wins, we all win. According to the website, currently the "impact" is as follows: Donated: $26,043 Donors: 895 Students Reached: 12,013
Our only other question is - are Colbert and Fallon going to pony up some dough of their own, or just put it all on their viewers?
