Snoop Dogg teams up with Rico the bush baby for Air New Zealand

snoop-rico.jpgCelebrities turn up in the darnedest places. For instance, John Travolta's "cringe-worthy" cameo in a Qantas airlines safety video. Turns out Snoop Dogg also recently logged some time working for an airline from the far side of the world.

Snoop co-stars in this three-minute (zzzz) ad for Air New Zealand with Rico, a puppet who is apparently meant to be a Bush Baby (a kind of animal that lives in, umm, Africa and nowhere else. Simon Cowell once compared an "Idol" hopeful to one). We assume Rico's meant to be New Zealand's version of the Geico Gecko except that Rico is somehow way more culturally offensive and about 40 percent less funny.

In the video, below, Snoop and Rico team up to rap about Air New Zealand. Apparently a bush baby rapping about "Where my ladies at tonight/where my babies at tonight" is just the ticket for selling airline tickets in New Zealand.

Warning: If you're watching at work, Snoop does drop a scatological reference at the end.
