Selena Gomez reportedly fronting Disney prank show; What about Justin Bieber?

Watch out Justin Bieber, your girl may be out to steal your thunder.

Hollywood Life reports that while "Wizards of Waverly Place" is nearing the end of the road, Disney darling Selena Gomez is staying put at the Mouse House.

Reportedly, Gomez has signed on to star in an "alternative series" (aka reality show) similar in fashion to MTV's "Punk'd." But wait, we thought JB was the one behind a prankster reboot?

"Selena shot the pilot and it's basically like Ashton Kutcher's old show, "Punk'd," but with the Disney kids," a source says. "Selena was having a ton of fun with it. She's a goof ball at heart."

Disney has yet to confirm the news but Zoo Productions, the company behind the show, said that "they couldn't talk about it at this time." We're sure Disney doesn't want to let their 18-year-old golden girl go just yet, so we imagine they've got something in the works for the starlet.

It still remains uncertain whether this is the same "Punk'd" revival that Biebs was rumored to have been working on in the past. It was previously reported that Bieber had been tapped as the host of an MTV renewal for the series. Could it be that Gomez and her boy will go head to head in competing programs? Or has the rumored project landed in the hands of Disney instead?

We're hoping for the latter. Sometimes there does exist too much of a good thing.
