Royal wedding sick bags: Now this is useful memorabilia
Why waste one's money on gaudy Franklin Mint-style dishes commemorating the upcoming nuptials of Prince William and Kate Middleton, when Royal Wedding Sick Bags can be had for a mere £3 (that's $4.84 for us Yanks).British graphic artist Lydia Leith already sold out one batch of silkscreened sickbags. A second run -- in both blue and red -- is available at www.lydialeith.com.
Each bag features an illustration of Kate and Wills. Above their head hovers a regal crown and the words "Throne Up." The bottom of the bag reads "Royal Wedding Sick Bag. Keep this handy on April 29th, 2011."
"The bags are just a bit of fun, a sort of antidote to the hysteria surrounding the wedding," Leith told the Huffington Post. "I'm not an anti-monarchist in the slightest!
"It started out as a joke around the dinner table and I made them expecting to sell a handful to friends and family but it seems there is a much greater demand. I'm a fan of Royal memorabilia myself and I just thought it would be a lighthearted addition to what's available to commemorate the day."
We're in the process of buying a large quantity for the entire office.
