Robert Pattinson gushes about female co-stars Reese Witherspoon, Kristen Stewart, Tai the Elephant

rob-pattinson-mtv.jpgIt's no secret that Robert Pattinson gets along just fine with his female co-stars. Between Kristen Stewart, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman (Bel Ami), he's worked with some of the best in the business, yet he still cannot stop gushing about his four legged "Water for Elephants" co-star.

In an interview with MTV News, Pattinson goes continues to sing the praises of Tai the elephant, and says she was a main factor in his decision to take the role.

"I met Tai the elephant and that pretty much sealed it," he says. "I met the elephant and I was thinking, 'Well even if this is the worst script or book in the entire planet, there's at least 75 out of 100 good reasons for doing it.'"

This isn't Tai's first rodeo either, she's appeared in the music video for Britney Spears' 'Circus,' as well as several cult films.

"She's done way more movies than I have. I mean seriously, like way more," Pattinson laughs. "Almost anything that has an elephant in it, it will be Tai. She's very famous in the elephant community."

As for his human co-stars, the actor dishes on what they all seem to have in common.

"I like hot girls. I like being in movies with lots of hot girls," he jokes. "They're all very strong, actually. I always end up being in movies with like, very kind of experienced and passionate people. They're never just flimsy floozies."

We like his choice of vocabulary -- Let's hope he's able to keep with the trend of respectable leading ladies.

The half-hour interview has several segments, including this one which is good for a laugh. Check out Pattinson as he transitions into his American accent.

The best one Rob looks great with is Reese and they are so much aloke and both beautiful people in and out they would make a prefect pair.
Can not wait to see WFE.

I like all of Rob's co-stars except for Reese W. She's a great actor but looks way too old for him. I'm completely baffled by the casting as Marlena is a 21 year old brunette, not a 30something blonde a decade older than Jacob.

How many young actresses do you know that can pull off the circus acts with animals and also the 1930's woman look. I was married to a man 8 years younger and there are plenty of couples in Hollywood where the woman is much older (Demi and Ashton, anyone?).
I think Rob and Reese look great together. Dying to see the movie!

Of course a woman can be a decade older than the man. However,WFE,if you've read the book is not about an older woman/younger man. Oscar winner or not, an actor should at least bare a slight resemblance to the character. Is it too much to ask for those of us who love the book?

@irk. sounds like a roundabout way to insult a certain gorgeous 20year old with legs that go on forever. Acknowledging an older, soon to be married mom is a lot safer.

Yeah Reese is a good actress, but absolutely no chemistry with Rob. Because aside from being a decade older than him, Rob's facial features are way prettier than Reese. The face of Reese has prominent bony structures and her chin is out of proportion from her face. The blond hair even made her 2x older than her age. I think it's better to read the book WFE.

@rsd. You completely misunderstood. I wasn't implying that a love story with a woman 10 years older is unsavory. In the upcoming Bel Ami, Uma Thurman, obviously older than Rob, is his love interest, but that casting is great because she is an older widow preyed upon by an ambitious and unscruplous younger guy. Marlena is a 21year brunette in WFE. Just had my eyes checked, and I don't see how that description fits Reese W. If Bella Swan was potrayed by a 34 year old blonde, the saga would be a farce and definitely wouldn't have made billions. Wishing you a continuing happy marriage.(BTW, Demi isn't asking us to believe she's 21, and you can goggle photos of Miss Witherspoon's stunt double regarding the circus acts)

In my opinion, they should have used different actresses to play different ages.( the story spans decades. Hal Holbrook steps in for Rob later) I think that Reese was cast so that they could announce in that ostentacious media voice,"starring two Oscar winning actors..." ,but I agree with the comments above that she is too old to play a 21year old. I still think that the previews look great, Rosie is adorable, Christoph W. is going to be phenomenal of course and hopefully after this , people would stop refering to Rob as just the Twilight guy.

Resse Witherspoon should have stuck to playing Rob's mother like she did in Vanity Fair.

@jamiee. lol, but that's a little harsh. I don't think that Reese looks like his mother, but I also don't think that she looks like Marlena in the book either. Aside from the age and coloring, Marlena, though experienced, has a kind of haunting vulnerability that comes from marrying young(when she was 17) and tied to a domineering and abusive husband. Reese exudes more of a jaded showgirl air to me. I loved the book, and am curious to see it on screen, even though I also feel that they did fans of the book a disfavor with Reese.
