Rebecca Black's 'Friday': The music video equivalent of that tape in 'The Ring'

rebecca-black-friday.jpgIf "Friday" is a joke, then it is most certainly on us, because we just wasted 3 minutes and 48 seconds of our admittedly awesome life enduring the most awful music video ever created.

A slow burn over the weekend, the debut music video from Rebecca Black reached viral status Monday, Mar. 14, nearing 3 million views on YouTube.

Now, what exactly makes "Friday" so heinous... Is it the presumably empty promises fed to this poor girl by distributing label Ark Music Factory? Is it the mindless, repetitive lyrics that contain an obsessive-compulsive preoccupation with both the days of the week and deciding where to sit in a car? Or maybe it's the low-budget, seizure-inducing visuals implored during the bridge?

No, it's the fact that somewhere, there are more than a few people who put this together thinking it wasn't a crime against man, culture and possibly god.

Here's "Friday," for those of you who haven't seen it... and don't mind the prospect of dying seven days from now when a mud-caked Rebecca Black crawls out of a well to claim your soul:

Her voice sounds she's singing
through her nose. I think I'd
listen to Katy Perry's ET.

Calm down. This video is better than anything you will ever create.

Is she a tranny?

Better than Kesha...IMO

Really? Most awful video ever created. Really? Does anyone remember "Dancing in the streets" with Bowie and McJagger? How a thirteen year old's first music video can be compared to two show biz veterans is beyond me. Before handing out the award, I recommend the author do a little more homework... please!

Anon, I agree. This video is better than anything ANYONE will ever create.

Forget the singing, I'm just glad I *finally* learned what days come after Friday. Thank goodness for this video!

Yeah...this is the aftermath of Kesha, only the lyrics aren't foul and this girl isn't celebrating being stupid and trashy (maybe the stupid part, a little).

Shame the 'net has to take down a kid this way.

For all you defending this crap, you all need to be shipped off this planet and sent to Jupiter. There is no way around it, it's horrid. Poison for human brains. This sucks so bad that dudes that sang da Macarena thinks it's terrible. This makes the band TACO look like Mozart.

Definitely not the worst I've ever seen, but there was something so distracting about 12 year old kids driving and having a house party.
