Mike Huckabee slams Natalie Portman for pregnancy
We're pretty sure FOX News host Mike Huckabee didn't send Natalie Portman a fruit basket for her big Oscar win on Sunday. Just a big pile of judgment. During an interview with conservative radio host Michael Medved, Huckabee slammed Portman for having a child out of wedlock. How did this topic come up? All because Portman thanked her fiance Benjamin Millepied for giving her "the most wonderful gift" (their baby, obviously, due later this year). Medved said the gift should have been "a wedding ring."
In response, Huckabee said, "One of the most troubling things is that people see a Natalie Portman or some other Hollywood starlet that boasts of, hey look, we're having children, we're not married, but we're having children and they're doing just fine."
If that wasn't bad enough, he then went on to slam all single mothers. "There aren't really a lot of single moms out there that are making millions of dollars each year by being in a movie," he says. "I think it gives a distorted image that not everybody hires nannies and caretakers and nurses. Most single moms are very poor, uneducated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death and would not get healthcare."
Huckabee, a Republican who could possibly run for the White House, finishes with this: "It's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of out of children wedlock."
Portman who is engaged to Millepied has yet to respond to Huckabee's comments, though we're sure she's too busy personalizing his wedding invitation to release a statement just yet.

B. Just because she isn't married doesn't mean she is single..not to mention that she is engaged to be married...but who cares...again, grow up.
Mike Huckabee, you are truly a moron.
Huckabee is another conservative crackpot. He had his longshot try at the White House 4 years ago and died a miserable political death. He now is trying again - hence why he said these comments.
The [washed up] "politician" has to remember that what percentage of births noew are out of wedlock in America? If he's elected President maybe he'll ban them. :-)
I think America have more pressing issues than Portman's kid.

I don't see anything wrong with what he said and in fact what he said is true. The bias in the reporting was obvious, this was not a SLAM. It was a statement and his opinion.
It is true, most single mother's don't have millions of dollars and a ton of help. I am very thankful for all that my husband does to help with our three year old. It is not easy raising a child, especially trying to do it alone.
I know of another girl who was pregnant out of wed lock and got rewarded with being on Dancing with the Stars and a great deal of media exposure. She also was the daughter of a former VP candidate. Why aren't we targeting her and chastising what she did?
Single women shouldn't expect TAX PAYERS to pay for their kids if they can't afford them.
