Meet Dominic Cooper: The man who broke Amanda Seyfried's heart

When Dominic Cooper and Amanda Seyfried met on the set of "Mamma Mia!", it was love at first sight. "You're both open. You're put in a situation where you have to make out with each other. It's easy for things to get carried away," Seyfried tells Elle.

Unfortunately, he had a girlfriend at the time. He ended things with her to be with Seyfried, but that didn't last long. "I was just kind of foolishly thinking that the two of them were done and Dom and I were involved," she says. "But we weren't really as involved as I thought. So I got my heart broken pretty hard."

Cooper is a 32-year-old British actor who is best known for his theater work, but has appeared in significant roles in films like "Mamma Mia!" and "An Education." He'll soon be seen in "Captain America: The First Avenger" as Howard Stark.

Toward the end of her on-and-off relationship with Cooper, Seyfried started seeing "True Blood" star Alexander Skarsgard. She's now unofficially dating Ryan Phillippe.
