Ina Garten, 'Barefoot Contessa,' can't make time for Make-A-Wish kid

ina-garten.jpgThe "Barefoot Contessa"? More like the "Barefoot Grinch."

According to TMZ, Ina Garten, host of the popular Food Network show "Barefoot Contessa," has not been able to find time in her busy schedule to cook a meal with 6-year-old cancer patient Enzo. It was his Make-A-Wish Foundation wish.

The foundation reportedly approached Garten last year about the wish, but she was on a book tour and could not fit the wish into her schedule. They asked her again this year and a rep for Garten responded with a "definite no," citing scheduling conflicts again.

Another rep for Garten tells TMZ, "Despite her demanding schedule, [Ina] participates and helps as many organizations as she can throughout the year, helping children and adults like Enzo with life threatening and compromising illnesses. Unfortunately, as much as she would like to, it's absolutely impossible for her to grant every request she receives."

Enzo's new wish is to swim with dolphins.

We have to say - being busy is understandable, but c'mon. This is, like, the ultimate thing we would bend over backwards to make happen. Not only is the kid dying of cancer, but his one wish in the whole wide world is to make a meal with you? Good lord.

disappointed in Ina on this one. denying the Make-a-Wish Foundation? Bad move.

Wow

ungrateful *****! she owes it to viewers like him! poor boy!

that is horrible

That's probably her only fan under 70. Shame on her.

Could it maybe be that she is an imposter who can't cook at all but rather a business woman who parlayed her business sense into a brand that involves cooking meanwhile other people who work for her are the ones who come up with the recipes, test them and then she just steps in front of the camera and pretend to cook? Just a thought.

Disappointed as well. All I can say is that you MAKE time for what you want to make time for. It's the ultimate brush off because in all honesty she really doesn't want to do it. I feel sorry for the young boy.

What a piece of crap! She is already the worst of the personalities on Food Network. Food Network should kick her off their network for causing such bad PR and being an otherwise nasty person.

I wonder if we'll get one of those stories about how she never really knew about it. Otherwise...she's kinda evil.

I mean...hell, film it for your show or something.

Good lord, get over yourself poster of this story. She was too busy to do it, so she didn't do it.
