Harry Teinowitz: ESPN radio announcer charged with DUI, 'This doesn't define me'

Harry-Teinowitz-ESPN.jpgESPN radio host Harry Teinowitz was pulled over at 11:50 PM on Friday (Mar. 4) in good ole' Skokie, Illinois for "improper lane usage" in his Nissan Murano. The culprit? A blood alcohol level of .131, of course.

Teinowitz was charged with a DUI and released on $1,000 bail.

The 50-year-old took to his ESPN 1000's radio show, The Afternoon Saloon, on Tues. to address his troubles

"Before we start the show today, there's something I need to say that's very important -- to me," he begins. "Some of you may have heard about the incident that occurred last Friday night. I made a horrible mistake in judgment and I take full responsibility for my actions."

Continuing, "I let my family down. I let you guys, the listeners who I love, down. I let the company that I work for down. And I'm deeply sorry."

This isn't the radio broadcaster's first brush with controversy, as he was asked to leave the Chicago White Sox clubhouse last May for behaving inappropriately, according to team executives.

"This doesn't define me," he said on-air. "What happens from now defines me."

dont forget the part about him weaving wildly and dangerously on the Kennedy expressway at a high rate of speed---enough so that a driver he did cut off and almost hit, took the time to call the police and follow him, reporting where he exited going to Skokie...then he had pot and lied that it was a Valet parker that stunk up the car. Fire him. Danger to Society and probably has been doing this for half a lifetime...at first it seemed innocent, though dui's hardly ever are--now that he drove this dangerously, its another level. Dude doesnt care about the safety of others or their families, why should we care about his. Rehab and Fire him. Let him start over, and probably at a place that doesnt have "Saloon" in its name as a show or for employment. Fraud.
