Glenn Beck calls Japan earthquake 'a message' from God

glenn-beck-apology.jpgThe earthquake that struck northeastern Japan has claimed nearly 3,400 lives and left more than 10,000 people missing. So what -- or rather who -- does right-wing radio host and television presenter Glenn Beck think caused the tragedy? God.

On his radio show on Monday, Mar. 14, Beck said the natural disaster was "a message being sent" by God. Seriously. He then explained his statement:

"I'm not saying God is causing earthquakes (he quickly added, "I'm not not saying that either").What God does is God's business. But I'll tell you this, whether you call it Gaia or whether you call it Jesus, there's a message being sent. 'Hey, you know that stuff we're doing? It's not really working out. Maybe we should stop doing some of it.' I'm just saying."

The FOX News host recently apologized for comments he made on the radio comparing Reform Judaism to Islamic Extremism. We're guessing we might be hearing another apology from Beck pretty soon.

Can you prove that he is wrong?

Basically, what he is saying is that God is still in control of the Universe.

Why do bad things happen to good people? That is probably the basic most fundamental question that anyone who believes in a higher power has to deal with.

I don't know the answer.

If you look in the Bible, which is a much better place to learn about God then from a former stand-up comic turned pundit, whenever God had judged something and destroyed it (The Flood, Sodem and Gamora) it was always preceded by a warning.

Noah preached for something like 100 years, before the Flood.

Why did the Tsunami happen? I have no idea.

Jason, can you prove he is right? Really, man, no one knows why things happen the way they do. Any pundit can say doomsday scenarios and use it as their claim to fame. But to use it when so many people are hurting is disgraceful. Glen Beck needs to be more sensitive and keep his mouth shut.

This is why people should go to church for religion and not a radio show.

The earth and every thing on it is in a state of decay,
and is waiting for the return of Jesus Christ and is groaning as in the pains of child birth.
Read Romans 8:18-24

Glenn Beck and God are both a-holes. Beck because he is a brain-dead, fear-mongering moron. And God because he/she exists through people who engage in brain-dead, fear mongering. Maybe people should start thinking for themselves and overcome religious brainwashing. It is possible, just takes a little courage.

I think it is presumptuous of Glenn Beck to speak for God. Also, didn't he go on to talk about Gaia or something? How do we even know he is talking about the Christian God and not some other god?

Isn't Glenn Beck a scientologist?
