Eva Longoria post-divorce: 'My house is the female 'Entourage''

Eva-Longoria-Allure.jpgThe gorgeous Eva Longoria is gracing the cover of Allure with her presence, opening up on her life post-divorce and explaining why she lives in the female version of HBO's "Entourage."

It's a new day for the "Desperate Housewives" actress, as her divorce from San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker was only recently finalized.

"I'm used to always being on a plane and flying to a basketball game," she says. "Every time I talk about it, I want to cry. It's been hard. Very hard. I'm just trying to get through it as gracefully as possible without any drama."

She's getting through the heartache with the help from her gal-pals, even sharing her home with two friends.

"We always say that my house is the female 'Entourage,'" she explains of her roomies, who watch over the house while she's away and watch over her when she's home. "When you go through something as devastating as a divorce, you just want to be surrounded by people who care for you... I don't know what I'd do without them."

Her housemates aren't the only ones she's leaned on for support. Longoria has found sanctuary with her "Desperate Housewives" co-stars.

"Two actors who I lean on heavily for life advice are Marcia Cross and Felicity [Huffman]. We're like sisters," she says. "You know, some people collect plates and stamps and coins. I collect amazing, smart, interesting women."

You can read her full interview when the April issue hits newsstands on Mar. 22.

I love her so much more after seeing how she's handling her divorce under the scrutiny of the public eye. She's got such class and is not afraid to admit she still cries sometimes. She's such an inspiration to women everywhere who are going through a divorce or difficult break-up. Life goes on, and you will cry now and then, but you will survive. I'm proud of you, girlfriend!!

A person that goes through it needs a good support system, and it's great to know that Eva Longoria has friends that are there to help her. Divorce is never an easy thing to go through, and this just goes to show that no one finds it a pleasant experience. Even celebrities, who we think do not experience the problems "normal" people do, go through these things.

I'm sure many people this news to be of interest, so I've bookmarked this post on StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Reddit and Google Bookmarks. Also, I'd like to add that divorce books are good resources for those who are going through a divorce or those that have just recently gone through it.

I have never been married, but if I had to experience divorce, I'm almost certain I could relate. I understand what you are saying. You give your heart to another person, and when that person is not there anymore to fulfill that role you need to be surrounded by that support system. Eva you are wonderful, and it's good you have that support you need.

My heart goes out to Eva--she seems like a truly beautiful woman, inside and out, and I'm sad for her. One of the things I learned about divorce is that understanding the four stages of grief most people go through when getting divorced can help you avoid getting stuck. These stages are shock, a roller coaster of mood swings, self-development, and emergence.
