Emma Watson drops out of Brown University (for now)
Did it just not live up to Hogwarts?Emma Watson, who famously enrolled at Rhode Island's Brown University in 2009, Monday announced that she'll be taking an indefinite leave from her studies at the Ivy League school.
In a message posted on her official website, Watson writes about her difficulty "being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments."
"I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects," writes Watson. "I will still be working towards my degree... it's just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : )."
Emoticon use aside, we think Watson made the right decision. She's aware of her own limitations and put her college career on hold while she still stands to make a little rainy day money from the Potter franchise.

Smart move. We've already seen how multitasking can backfire on a busy actor (paging Mr. Franco...). Emma's got plenty of time to get her degree. For now she's smart to make some hay while the sun shines. Hopefully it'll shine for a while!
It is not like she has to type up a resume after college and go look for a job. She got over $30mill in the bank. This was a smart move by Emma, that school isn't going anywhere, it will be there whenever she is ready to go back.
