David Arquette's car accident: Head-on collision causes injuries

"Scream 4's" David Arquette is fresh out of rehab, but the hits just keep on coming. TMZ reports that Arquette was involved in a car crash in Hollywood on Friday afternoon (just moments ago). Arquette was driving a silver Cadillac following a car that braked abruptly, and Arquette swerved to the left to avoid rear-ending the car in front of him.

The swerve, into oncoming traffic, caused a head-on collision. Arquette got out of his very badly damaged car and to go lie down on some grass near the curb -- as you can see in the photo above -- where he lay until an ambulance arrived to take him away. Witnesses say Arquette was bleeding.

Arquette was recently on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" discussing his newfound sobriety. "I have a critic in my mind that's very mean and vicious and sometimes it leads me down the wrong path," he says. "Being able to identify that voice in my head and start being more true to myself helps me to go in the right direction."
