Christina Aguilera, Matthew Rutler arrested in Hollywood

christina-aguilera-matthew-rutler-getty.jpgAfter flubbing the National Anthem at Super Bowl XLV and then sort of falling off the stage at the end of the Grammys tribute to Aretha Franklin, Christina Aguilera had a pretty rough February. Now she's kicking off March with an arrest.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Xtina and her boyfriend Matthew Rutler were arrested early Tuesday (March 1). Aguilera had misdemeanor charges and was released on bail of $250. Rutler was not so fortunate. His bail was set at $30,000.

TMZ has more details, saying Xtina was popped for public intoxication, while Rutler was charged with Driving Under the Influence. Their source also says had Rutler not been pulled over for driving erratically, Aguilera would never have been in trouble, though she did appear "extremely intoxicated" and was "unable to take care of herself."

Rutler and Xtina met on the set of her recent movie "Burlesque," where he was a musician and production assistant. We'll keep you posted as more details emerge.

Is anyone honestly surprised? We all heard it from insiders that she was getting tipsy before singing at the Super Bowl. This fat cow is a drunk. Try to hold yourself together woman, you have a child to raise. She is so disgusting..

Wait- you can get charged for public intoxication for being drunk in a car on your way home?

Driving drunk is wrong. Riding home drunk...not really sure what the issue is.

I don't care if she was drunk. She was in the car with him, which means she allowed him to drive. She's as guilty as he is.

These people are millionaires. Surely, this idiot can afford a cab? This could have ended worse.

@ugh:

So two people are sloppy pissy drunk and one sloppy drunk is supposed to stop the other sloppy drunk from driving....? Really?
