Chris Brown apologizes for 'GMA' outburst: 'I just wanted to release the anger'
Chris Brown, who totally upped "Good Morning America's" profile earlier this week when he reportedly flew into a rage after being asked repeatedly on air about his ex, Rihanna, tells BET's "106 & Park" he's sorry for what happened. Well, kinda sorta.
"First of all, I just wanna apologize to anybody who was startled in the office, anybody who was offended or really disappointed in my actions, because I was disappointed with the way I acted," Brown said Wednesday (March 23).
But, he continued:
"A lot of people don't know what went down, and obviously when I do shows or when I do interviews, we always send out a talking point sheet. As the interview proceeded, it was kinda thrown off. I was thrown off by it. I felt like they told us this just so they could get us on the show so they can exploit me. So I took it very, very hard and I really kinda kept my composure throughout the whole interview, although you can see me upset, I kept my composure, I did my performance. And when I got back, I just let off steam. I didn't physically hurt anyone, I didn't try to hurt anyone, I just wanted to release the anger that I had inside me because I felt that I worked so hard for this music and I felt like people kept just trying to take it away from me. So yes, I got very emotional, and I wanna apologize for acting like that."
After performing a song from his new album on Monday's (March 21) "GMA," Brown allegedly threw a chair through a dressing room window and ripped off his shirt. The reason for his outrage? He was asked (supposedly pre-vetted) questions about Rihanna's relaxation of the restraining order against him and his probation for felony assault.
What do you think? Is the apology enough to put the incident behind him?

Major, major nutjob. Trying to "justify" his actions?! Brown, you need to be committed to a mental institution.
What if every "angry" person just wanted to "let off steam" in an illegal and violent way? There'd be bedlam and mayhem and killing in the streets. You have a serious mental defect, dude, and it's out of control. I seriously wonder if a lobotomy or shock-therapy could even help you.
Folks, watch this guy...you're looking an angry thug who will be in a grave very soon. Anyone doubt it? Sad.
Dude, we all have bad days. We all get angry. But we don't all rip our shirts off and punch through windows and run through hallways scaring everyone around us in public.
Is that what they teach you in anger management?
Unfortunately in life you can't just get what you want. Maybe the cost of pimping your album is answering questions you don't like. Which, by the way, is what was happening- you were not exploited, and you aren't such a big draw that a tv show would need to lure you in with a trick. If you can't handle an interview going off the script you want to follow you probably shouldn't give any.
Kid needs some media training. Or maybe he should just go away. Music's not that great (clearly it's not good enough to draw the focus and be what he's best known for).
yeah, his music's just not that good...
& glad to see those anger mgmt classes paid off...
he said too many things to justify his behavior (he still doesn't GET IT)...
and oh yeah, of course he's SO SORRY now (yada yada yada)......
