Chad Michael Murray drops the 'Michael,' wants to work with Aronofsky and Scorsese
Chad Michael Murray of "One Tree Hill" fame is on the cover of the April issue of Troix magazine, but he's sans his most defining feature. Don't worry, he still has his unfortunate facial hair. He's dropped his middle name and will henceforth be known as simply Chad Murray. So basically, if you haven't forgotten all about him since he left "One Tree Hill" two years ago, you probably will now.
Unless, of course, he gets his dream, which is to work with Darren Aronofsky, Martin Scorsese or Terry Gillam. "I love 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,'" he says. "It's what film should be about. It's true imagination where you go anywhere. It was just so beautiful. Definitely one of my top 10 films."
Murray mugs for the camera and talks about his six years on "One Tree Hill" -- though there's no word yet as to whether he's returning for the series finale. (We doubt it, since his on-screen wife, Hilarie Burton, has confirmed that she's not coming back.)
"I'm grateful to have had it. I'm fortunate to have had it. I learned so, so very much from so many people. I was able to kind of grow up and become the man I'm becoming today. I just feel very fortunate to have been in that position, to be in Wilmington, North Carolina, to be in place that's kind of smaller than Los Angeles. It's just different. I enjoyed my experience there."
Murray also spent a season in Wilmington before "One Tree Hill" began, when he played Charlie on "Dawson's Creek." He still closely follows the work of his former "Creek" co-star, Joshua Jackson. "the one show I haven't missed an episode of in its three seasons is 'Fringe.' Love 'Fringe.' I love the cast. It's fantastic."
Just because we can, let's go back to the good old days and watch some friendly interaction between Charlie and Pacey. (Does Pacey fight everyone he meets?)

He was so cute back in the day. With his poofy hairdo. He seems like a totally different person now. So does Hilarie B. (who had once said she WOULD return to OTH if asked, but then changed her mind recently resulting in Peyton bashing within the show). I hope something works out for CM2, I liked him on OTH, and I would like to enjoy him on his next big thing if it happens. I'm actually enjoying HB on White Collar, so maybe something like that will come along for him.
Also, I don't think Pacey fought everyone, just those who messed with the ladies in his life :)
This makes me so sad to hear! I mean, it's great that he wants to work with such awesome directors... but is changing his name really the way to do it?
What is this, WHAT IS THIS! Chad Murray minus the Michael? Outrage! Now I'm going to get him confused with a cat, or an accountant, or something else that does not immediately scream of delight and recognition to me the way 'Chad Michael Murray' does.
However, it is pleasing to know he still keeps up with Joshua Jackson. Even if it's only through the magic of his TV screen.
Eeeyeahhh, he's going to need to drop the attitude and get a few extra acting lessons before the likes of Scorcese or Aronofsky would even care to know his name.
Okay so he is good looking, but he is no way near the likes of Scorsese! When I see the actors who work with such big directors I see the top picks. I'm sorry but he is a tv actor who has done a few B/C grade teen films and frankly can't act that well. If he ever worked with those directors I'd stop watching films from shock!
you might be surprised, i saw him in a few episodes of oth. the one after keith was killed, the one he had the gun on dan. i think he might be a lot better then you think.
Maybe he imagines he can do it since Michelle Williams who he worked with on Dawson works now with directors like Scorcese, Ang Lee and certainly in the futur Aronofski..problem Chad even on Dawson Michelle could already act. She also had a lucky star, made some good choices with unknown but great independent directors at first.. get real guy you are not in the same league despite your Dawson (don't be proud of that by the way..come on lol) roots.
Never say never but i doubt he will have the same fate that Michelle.
I always wondered why actors felt obligated to use their middle names for work. Of course though, some of my favorites do it, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Sarah Jessica Parker, etc. I think Chad will be just fine, I wish he'd make a guest appearance on the finale of OTH, just for the fans that made him who he is today, but his career will be fine. You watch, he'll end up on another TV show or some random movie and he'll bounce back.
he's so cute
