Box office: 'Limitless' tops soft Friday, on track to win weekend
"Limitless" brought in $6.5 million at the box office on Friday night, putting it on track to win the weekend. The Bradley Cooper thriller should beat expectations and gross $18 million, reports The Wrap.Last weekend's box office winner "Battle: Los Angeles" wasn't too far behind, grossing $4.5 million. The alien invasion flick is expected to bring in $14.6 million over the weekend. Johnny Depp's animated western "Rango" brought in $4.2 million and should bring in $17.2 million.
Matthew McConaughey's new film "The Lincoln Lawyer" didn't fare so well as it banked $4 million on Friday and is expected to make $11.5 million. Simon Pegg's new alien buddy comedy "Paul" earned $4.4 million and should gross $12.2 million over the weekend.
