Sweet Child O' Mine: Fergie, Slash make us long for Axl Rose
We already told you how we really feel about the Black Eyed Peas' horrific Super Bowl halftime performance, but Fergie's rendition of "Sweet Child O' Mine" really is just unforgivable. Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash made a welcomed appearance during the ill-fated performance, but Fergie's vocals just couldn't pull it together to do Axl Rose justice.
We love being reminded of the classic tune, but unfortunately this is not a cover we'll be replaying on iTunes again in the near future. Or... ever. This isn't the first time the Black Eyed Peas have given Guns N' Roses their best effort either, as they often perform the first verses during live shows.
Wonder what Slash thought of the whole debacle?
Not to say there haven't been good covers of it in the past. Carrie Underwood and Sheryl Crow to name a few -- Crow's version even earned her a Grammy Award.
In case you missed it, you can watch Fergie and Slash take on Super Bowl XLV below. Or, if you value your hearing -- listen to the original version instead.

Today is Axl Rose's birthday and this was Slash's present to Axl for screwing their band and all their fans over.
Sheryl Crow. No "e."
Fergie is the worst thing to ever happen to music. Seriously, he is the worst. Stop dressing like a woman!
Man, I hate that guy.
Should have went with "Beautiful Dangerous" instead.
Slash once said that he hated Sweet Child so that must have been an extra dose of hell for him - a song he hates sung by what sounded like a strangled cat
the black eye peas suck and axl rose should be really mad that they used his song.
Axl Foley is the best Axl,..and everyone knows it!
The Black Eyed Peas suck, and so does Axl Rose. A match made in heaven.
That was just terribleeee. The field was nice but BEP and Usher were both terrible.
Did you just call the Sheryl Crow version good???? You lost any credibility for your criticism of anything.
