Rep. Chris Lee resigns after Gawker outs shirtless photos from Craigslist flirtation

New York Republican congressman Christopher Lee has resigned Wednesday (Feb. 9) after Gawker reported on and published a photo he sent to a woman he met on the Craigslist classifieds. Lee said in a statement, "I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness."
The emails sent back and forth between the woman, a 34-year-old Maryland resident whose name is not disclosed, are displayed on Gawker. Lee told her he was a 39-year-old divorced lobbyist and sent her shirtless photos. He is in fact a 46-year-old married father of one and has held the representative spot from New York's 26th district for just over two years.
Seriously - how could someone be so stupid? Of course cheating (or trying to arrange some cheating) on your spouse is bad, but if you are a public figure, why on God's green earth would you send a shirtless photo of yourself to some random Craigslist person? Good gravy.

I just love what hypocrites these Republicans are!! They want to ban gay marriage but they have no clue about marriage (gay or otherwise). They want to legislate morality as long as it doesn't apply to them.

David, Democrats Sheila Lee Jackson, Maxine Waters, and Charlie Rangel all have pending ethics investigations against them. Former Congressman William Jefferson was convicted of corruption and bribery. Does this mean that all Democrats are corrupt? Ted Kennedy killed a woman, does this mean all Democrats are murderers?
