Peggy Rea: 'The Waltons' and 'Dukes of Hazzard' actress dies

Veteran TV actress Peggy Rea, best known for her roles on "The Waltons," "The Dukes of Hazzard" and "Grace Under Fire," died of congestive heart failure on Feb. 5, at her home in Toluca Lake, California. She was 89-years-old.

Rea began her long TV career in the '60s and appeared on shows such as "I Love Lucy," "Bonanza," "Gunsmoke," "The Odd Couple," "All in the Family," "The Golden Girls," "Hunter" and "MacGyver." According to IMDB.com, she has appeared on 72 television shows.

The Los Angeles native was a regular on "The Waltons," playing Rose Burton, "The Dukes of Hazzard," playing Lulu Hogg, and "Step by Step," playing Ivy Baker, the mother of Suzanne Somers' character.

Rea also appeared in films such as "Cold Turkey," "In Country" "Love Field" and "Made in America."
