Oscars 2011: Hailee Steinfeld's one-of-a-kind red carpet dress
When you're a teenage movie star, everyone's got their eye on you to make sure that what you're wearing is "age-appropriate," and that was certainly the catchphrase for every fashion critic when they saw "True Grit" star Hailee Steinfeld's one-of-a-kind Marchesa gown -- that she designed herself! At her very first Academy Awards Ceremony, Steinfeld looked simultaneously adorable and poised in her pink tea-length dress. "When I found out I was getting the opportunity to come here, I drew something out, and this is exactly what I had in mind," she says of her dress.
Though she didn't win the award (that honor went to Melissa Leo for her performance in "The Fighter"), Steinfeld was, of course, honored just to be there. "I'm here. That's my award. I can't ask for anything else," she said.
