Oprah Winfrey denies feud with Rosie O'Donnell: 'Don't buy into it'
Two strong women, one fledgling cable network and reports are saying that fireworks are going off. Reportedly, Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell are fighting over control of O'Donnell's upcoming show on OWN. And now Winfrey is trying to set the record straight.
"There's no feud between Rosie and me," Winfrey tweets. "We haven't even had a discussion about her new show."
She then adds, "I get so sick of people trying to create fights and feuds when women are in business. Don't buy into it."
Sources "with insider knowledge" tell Popeater that Winfrey and O'Donnell are butting heads over the direction of the new talk show.
"Oprah sees it as a friendly daytime talk show where viewers get to spend an hour with the old Rosie they used to love," the source says. "Rosie, on the other hand, thinks the show should be more political and a place where she can express her liberal views."
The source also says that the two media queens are clashing over Rosie's staff hires.
"Oprah wants Rosie to use an executive producer that she knows and trusts while Rosie insists she be able to pick her own, fearing whoever Oprah picks will be a spy," says the source. "It's a bad way to start off, considering they haven't even taped a single show yet."
