Mitch Mustain: Former USC football player arrested on narcotics charge
Former USC quarterback, Mitch Mustain, was arrested Tuesday (Feb. 1) evening on the suspicion of selling prescription narcotics. He was released on $30,000 bail from a Los Angeles jail. The LA Times reports that the arrest was part of a sting operation, though no details have been confirmed by the LAPD.
The 22-year-old's eligibility with the Trojans came to a close in 2010, and it is reported that he had been preparing for the March "pro day" workout in front of NFL scouts.
In 2005, Mustain was named USA Today's high school offensive player of the year. He went 8-0 as a starter for Arkansas, transferring to USC in 2007. The USC backup QB started in place of an injured Matt Barkley against Notre Dame last year.
