Miley Cyrus wins Global Action Youth Leadership award [VIDEO]

Miley Cyrus was the first ever recipient of the Global Action Youth Leadership award at the Global Action Awards in Beverly Hills Friday night (Feb. 18), emceed by Kara DioGuardi. Miley was introduced by Hilary Duff, as you can watch in the above video, and was very excited about receiving her award.

"I gotta tell you, I never thought I would get an award from Hilary Duff. This is like a dream come true for me, she inspired me. And now I'm here being able to inspire other kids. I'm very lucky and this is why I created Get Your Good On with Youth Service America."

"I wanted kids to understand what it feels like to se these smiles and know that they make a difference. It doesn't matter how young they are or what their dream is, as long as they have passion."

"I've also been very lucky to work with City of Hope. Just by going on tour we raised millions of dollars by each ticket that got sold. So I got to go on stage and live my dream and sing and perform and still be making a difference and that's what I want kids to do. I want them to do something they love ... what's on their heart."

According to the website, the inaugural Global Action Awards were created to recognize the unprecedented amount of power each of us has to solve problems, save lives, and see the future.

Congrats, Miley. We're glad she finds time to do good works in between the pole dancing and the salvia smoking.
