Miley Cyrus future 'TBD' following Billy Ray Cyrus GQ interview
Disney has yet to make any official statements regarding Billy Ray Cyrus' not-so-nice comments about "Hannah Montana," but an insider tells The Hollywood Reporter that the media giant is not surprised."We saw it coming for a long time," the Disney source says. "She wanted to mature herself, but it kind of backfired. Her future without Disney is TBD."
In the March issue of GQ, Cyrus goes on record saying "I'll tell you right now -- the damn show destroyed my family," in reference to the Disney hit.
"I'd take [doing the show] back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody OK, safe and sound and happy and normal, would be fantastic," he continues. "Heck, yeah. I'd erase it all in a second if I could."
The Disney insider says that both Miley and Billy Ray had been clear about their intentions to distance themselves from the squeaky clean Disney image for some time. Miley currently has no movies in the works with Disney's Touchstone label, which grossed $60 mil domestically for her Nicholas Sparks' romance, "The Last Song."
Instead, Miley is opting to go for a more adult image in the high school comedy "LOL" and will follow up with "So Undercover," in which she takes on the role of private eye turned sorority sister.
In Billy Ray's GQ interview, he claims to have never made money off his daughter. A "ludicrous" suggestion, according to the Disney source.

"Never having made money off his daughter"??? That's a bold statement. He was able to use her fame to help launch his comeback (if that's what that was). Not to mention the fact that he co-starred on HER show.
Come on, Billy, wake up. Don't blame anyone but yourself for your problems. You were too busy enjoying your new fame to raise your daughter properly.
L-O-S-E-R!!!!! Let's see where Miley is in a couple years. She's be on a VH1 special titled, "Whatever Happened To?....."
Billy raised Miley to be a star and that was all in the roadmap, which is still being used.
He may blame the TV show but he was right there. If there were influences he didn't like he could have kept his daughter away from those influences. If her "handlers" were doing the wrong things when she was a minor he could have fired them. For Pete's sake he is her father he was ultimately responsible for her as a minor - not Disney, not her handlers.
Can you say has been. And shes already started doing drugs "the bong" in 5 years she's not only goen be a has been a has been crack who're. Just like Lindsay lohan.
Billy Ray used his daughter to re - light his career. He never was a good father. Just a Gold digger using family to get more Gold. He can blame Disney and whoever he wants. He is at fault. What a Jerk. He ruined his family all for his Ego. A #1 Jerk
Miley has "Wings" in developement with Disney. If they back out of it, I will never forgive them. Never.
Poor Noah. She could have had a chance at a Disney career, but with her family imploding, they probably wouldn't touch her with a 10 foot pole now. Not that I blame them.
Oh, please. The girl ruined her own life and her dad and mom supported her every step of the way. Although, Disney is a corrupt business, the Cyrus family can't deny they made mega-bucks due to Hannah Montana. If Billy Ray hated it so much, why did he continue to star in the show?!
Here's what I find funny. He says that he would take back the fame and give it up in a second if he could. Of course its easy to say that when you have already got your wealth and you cant change the past. What gets me is that he wasnt willing to part with the fame or wealth during ANY of these scandals. During the Vanity Fair shoot, did any one recall him saying "this might be a bad choice, better say no". Nope. During the pole dance at the mtv awards....nope. Gee Cyrus was real silent and opening his hand to that money when he was in contract with Disney and his daughter was still under his control legally. Anyone find it just odd that all this regreat comes out right around the time they have nothing left with Disney and his daughter is now 18, legally free. NOW he says he would give it all up. Sounds like another Dina Lohan stepping up. Pointing the finger at everyone else, taking only the smallest amount of blame on themselves and then petting themselves on the back for being so open and honest. BULLSH*T CYRUS. To think he is the adult....sad.
