Kellie Pickler talks about her wedding on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show'
"American Idol" alum and newlywed Kellie Pickler appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday, Feb. 23, which was her first television interview since tying the knot in a spur of the moment ceremony on Jan. 1.
The singer shared intimate wedding details with Ellen, including what she had engraved on her husband Kyle Jacob's ring: "I put our wedding anniversary, 1-1-11, and I put 'Put it back on,'" she says. "Get it? Get it? It's not that funny. Let me explain. So if he takes if off and he looks at it, it's going to say 'Put it back on!'"
Pickler says the couple originally intended to have a big wedding, but decided to elope at the last minute due to stress caused by the guest list. "We were almost finished with the wedding planning. We had already done the cake and the flowers and all that. And every time we got to the guest list, it was like, 'Oh my God, I hate half these people.' Nothing personal!"
She says their spur of the moment nuptials turned out perfectly because they didn't have to plan or worry about anything. "We totally just put faith in God that it was all going to work out and it did and it was the most incredible day of my life."
