Grammys 2011: Cee Lo Green, his puppets and Gwyneth Paltrow steal the show

ceelo-grammys2.jpgLady Gaga took the stage in an egg at the Grammys. Cee Lo Green came dressed as a peacock -- and because he brought puppets and Gwyneth Paltrow, well, we kinda think he upstaged Lady Gaga.

Cee Lo performed the radio-friendly version of his infectious, Grammy-nominated song "F*** You" -- identified on the show as "the song otherwise known as 'Forget You'" -- at Sunday's (Feb. 13) Grammys, sitting at a mirror-covered piano wearing a suit of red feathers, a breastplate and chain-mail coif and a riot of giant, multi-colored feathers on his back.

And also: Puppets! A puppet band, complete with three puppet backup singers and a weird-looking dog bopping along at the piano, accompanied Cee Lo on the first couple of verses before Gwyneth Paltrow, who performed "F*** You" when she was a guest star on "Glee," joined him for the remainder of the song. She did her best impression of Michelle Pfeiffer in "The Fabulous Baker Boys," slinking around on the top of the piano.

But mostly, the feathers and the puppets. That was just fantastic.

Take a look at the performance:

fishsticks is sooo phoney her connections can keep repackaging her career...she still a joke.

Best performance of the night, hands down.

Yes, this was by far the best performance. And also give it up to Matt Hoffman for not steering that bike off the stage

Celo for the music and the fun. Gwyneth for the accompaniment and the beauty. The Grammys hit the jackpot with this performance.

did you think that Cee Lo singing with puppets would trivialize the fact that he sings offensively? How can you support a so called artist who can't pick from a world of words anything better than what he did? I feel sorry for the entertainment world who wants to put music to profanity! Our youth have enough pressures in this society - they don't need songs with repulsive and offensive words in it. Thank you for letting me vent and I hope there are people in this country who think like I do.

They should have used Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as the band. That would have made it beyond epic!

@ S TUNNELL I am so tired of people thinking that EVERYTHING needs to be censored because of kids, watching, listening to it etc. Not everything is meant for kids or to be kid friendly. There are lots of adults in this world. I am tired of having to pay additional taxes, etc for something to do with kids. Not everyone chooses to have kids an you should not have to pay for other people's children/problems/mistakes. If you can't afford them and if you can't monitor/raise them, then don't have them.
Sorry for getting off topic, but I have had enough of people thinking that everyone is suppose to raise their children for them.

Muppets not Puppets! I want to know how old are you now.

Gwyneth was great.

@ Shh When he was introduced they were called puppets. So the writer is correct.
