Fantasia Barrino gaining '30 to 45 pounds' to star in Mahalia Jackson biopic
"American Idol" victor Fantasia Barrino is packing on some weight -- but not for the reasons you might expect.In one of the more hilarious pregnancy denials in publicist history, Barrino manager tells RadarOnline, "Fantasia is 100% not pregnant. The only thing she's pregnant with is prosperity."

Apparently the weight gain is strictly for her craft. Barrino has signed on to play "Queen of Gospel" Mahalia Jackson in an upcoming biopic, a role her manager says she's been told to gain "30 to 45 pounds" for.
A feature film adaption of the 1993 Jackson biography, "Got to Tell It: Mahalia Jackson, Queen of Gospel," the film will be directed by Euzhan Palcy. Production starts in April, with a December release in mind.
