Ellen DeGeneres 'glad' she doesn't have to do 'American Idol' anymore

Oscar nominee Amy Adams ("The Fighter") stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Friday (Feb. 4) and shared how reality shows like "I Survived" and "I Shouldn't Be Alive" help her keep things in perspective.""Here I am going, 'I survived the red carpet.' I just feel so stupid," she says. "This person got like stabbed in the head and I'm just thanking myself for getting through one more red carpet."
Adams also says she teases her fiance by pretending to take notes during shows like "Snapped" that focus on women who kill. But all of her reality show faves aren't so dramatic.
"I miss you on 'Idol,'" she tells Ellen. Even though new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez "are doing a great job. I do miss you. I think you were so kind."
"I'm glad I don't have to do that anymore," Ellen admits. "It's so hard to tell people that they aren't good. Every time I tried to think of some funny way -- or some kind of way -- to say it and I don't have any of that pressure anymore."

Ellen is a sweet lady. I like her. But she didn't belong anywhere near that show. AI hiring her seemed like a desperation move (it was). Right now the show is better than it has been in years. Better talent, better judges. Steven Tyler > Simon Cowell.
I don't know what Ellen is talking about, she was not even on the audition shows to to tell people "No". I like Ellen, but she had no business being on Idol. Speaking as a so called normal person, I would have no trouble telling people to go home if they could not sing.
Jeremy! That's such a gay thing to say! Regardless of what Ellen is, she was a horrible judge. Good-bye and good riddance.
All I know is I like Amy Adams and Ellen. ☺
