'Deadliest Catch': Time Bandit's Justin Tennison dies at 33

justin-tennison-deadliest-catch.jpgJustin Tennison, a crew member on the "Deadliest Catch" boat F/V Time Bandit, has died.

The 33-year-old Tennison was found dead in a motel room in Homer, Alaska, Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 22), the Anchorage Daily News reports. Police say they found alcohol and about a quarter-ounce of marijuana in the room, but it's not known if they played any part in Tennison's death; an autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.

Time Bandit Capt. Andy Hillstrand posted a remembrance on his Facebook page, saying Tennison was "tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand."

"Justin fished commercially for many years, living in Alaska for 28 years," Hillstrand writes. "He worked on the Time Bandit, alongside his second cousin, Eddie Uwekoolani Jr., serving as Engineer during the tendering seasons, and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons."

Discovery Channel also released a statement on Tennison's passing: "Discovery Channel is saddened by the passing of Time Bandit crew member Justin Tennison. We send our sympathies to his entire family and fellow crew members during this most difficult time."

Tennison, who was father to a son and a daughter, would have turned 34 next month.

This is really sad and it's really sad that no one bothered to proofread the article before publishing it.

"Tennison, who was a son and a daughter, would have turned 34 next month."

I believe he had a son and a daughter, he wasn't a hermaphrodite.

Should have read "was father to a son and a daughter." Fixed now.

I thin k those of us with common sense could have figured out what they meant. Was somebody out there looking for the bad in everything. In any case thanks for the article. This is so sad

Agreed. If all you took away from that article was a grammatical error, that is a sad thing for you. My sympathies to his family.

Comment said that he was father to a son and daughter, not he was a son and daughter. read People read right

As noted in the comments, the comment was fixed after Holly noted the typo...

I have watched the show religiously for the last 4 years. My heart goes out to Justin's family, friends, and coworkers. I nearly died when I was 33. I would have left a lot behind as I am sure Justin did.
