Charlie Sheen: 'I'm not normal.' So we gathered

charlie-sheen-cbs.jpgHey, guess what? Charlie Sheen called into a radio show and ripped his bosses on "Two and a Half Men" Friday!

We know: shocking.

The venue Friday (Feb. 25) was the "Loose Cannons" show on Fox Sports Radio, hosted by Pat O'Brien (who introduced Sheen as a "dear friend"). On the subject of "Two and a Half Men," we got a couple now-familiar insults at creators Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn ("hypocrites," "turds") as well as a new one: "I just don't go out of my way to hassle people, and I kept asking for that respect," he says. "And I couldn't get it. I couldn't get it. Those guys are a couple of AA Nazis."

Sheen also tells O'Brien that if CBS still wants to make "Two and a Half Men" with him next season, he's there: "If they want to roll back with Season 9, I gave them my word, so I'd do that, but not with the turds that are currently in place. Can you imagine going back into the sludge pit with those knuckleheads at this point? Can you imagine? It would go bad quickly."

And finally, toward the end of the segment, O'Brien assures Sheen that everyone just wants to see him succeed and "be well" and be "sort of normal -- that guy on that show."

"I'm not normal," Sheen understates. "That's one thing [people] never got their mind around. ... If people want me to succeed, they should find the most comfortable chair in their frickin' house, and sit in it, and lean back, open a beer and watch the show, because it's about to get really gnarly."

The O'Brien interview capped a day in Sheen that also included:

  • Sheen telling Radar that he's talking with HBO about doing a half-hour show that would pay him $5 million per episode.
  • HBO's subsequent denial that any such talks have taken place. (HBO, for what it's worth, is owned by Time Warner, which also produces "Two and a Half Men.")
  • Sources saying Sheen won't be paid for any of the now-scuttled "Men" episodes this season.
  • Sheen insisting he'll show up for work at the Warner Bros. lot next week anyway.
  • The CEO of Morgan Creek Pictures saying Sheen will be out of a possible "Major League" sequel if "he keeps messing up."

We'll see what the weekend brings.
