'Celebrity Apprentice': Star Jones says NeNe Leakes perpetuates the 'bombastic black woman' stereotype

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta's" NeNe Leakes has definitely gone on record when it comes to her dislike for "Celebrity Apprentice" cast mate, Star Jones. And now the former "View" host is giving the housewife a piece of her mind.
"I had hoped we could avoid falling into the typical 'snake charmer in your face loud bombastic black woman' stereotypical box that was expected," Jones tells bvbuzz.com. "Some of us were more successful at our quest than others. I knew I wanted to approach the game intelligently, professionally and strategically, while keeping in mind my true purpose for being there - winning money for my charity."
Jones goes on to say that Leakes attacked and intimidated the other black women on the show, which included LaToya Jackson and singer Dionne Warwick, with her "aggressive approach."
"It isn't an approach that works in the professional environment," Jones says. "And it isn't an approach that most sisters use in interacting with each other. I would hope, as she becomes more exposed to a variety of professional situations, she will tone down the vitriolic emotional reactions and learn to express herself in manner that is more reflective of the majority of black women in America."
Well, we're sure NeNe will be getting back to you, Miss Jones.

Star Jones is right, just because you're black doesn't mean you have to act/talk all ghetto and be loud and overly expressive of your emotions.
I really like NeNe. I think she is a very classy woman, but I also feel that there is a thin line between out spoken and having the Omarosa syndrome. I hope NeNe does not cross that line. Also if she is done...I MEANNNN DONE! with Craig, I'd like to have a stab at him!
I just fell off my chair, I agree with STAr. Racist violent bully Nene is given a pass in the Obama-Media for her behavior where anybody else would be crucified.
The only reason that they cast Nene was for the ghetto element. Seriously, the woman is trash personified so what do you expect?
I agree with Star Jones. This chick is a wack-job.I don't even know who she is.
I have watched every Housewives episode and in the 1st season Nene seemed to be the only one that I thought to be "real". After seeing this last season I am now convinced that she is nothing more than a Bully. She is the type to say her "opinion" but then if u dont agree with it then she gets almost violent. She always has a finger in your face...just real trashy...
whatever when star Jones was FAT and on the view. she would act just like nene and would talk crap about everyone.. thats why they wanted her gone.
NeNe is so aggresive and violent I liked her the first season of RHOA, but I can't stand her now. She is so trashy, and so desparate to be a real celebrity, that she is going overboard on everything. Her ego is out of control, and I think she was only cast because they knew whe would behave like that. Enjoy it while you can NeNe because the viewer is getting sick of you. Easy come, easy go.
As a resident of Atlanta, I have watched every episode of RHWOA. In the beginning NeNe seemed to be humble. Now, just the thought of anyone having to be in the same room with her brings sorrow to my heart. It is very sad that she has come this far and let fame slap her off her own feet. She has lost everything. Including the man who loved her through it all. The Fame Monster bites really hard.
While I don't see what one ignorant, bully's comments have anything to do with the Obama admin and the media, it DOES have everything to do with how the mainstream white media historically portrayed black women. This has been going on since before Barack or Michelle were even born. Do your research. Sapphire Stevens from Amos and Andy back in the 1950's, she was loud aggressive, demeaning;shrill, berating Aunt Esther from Sanford and Son in the 70's and now ghetto, uneducated low life NeNe for this generation. For every Michelle Obama, Condi Rice, every successful black female attorney, doctor, teacher, every step forward, we will be handed a NeNe Leakes. I find the timing of all this attention to Leakes by the media even more troubling considering the fact we now have a black First Lady
