Alex Pettyfer takes Ewan McGregor's advice; Maybe dating Dianna Agron wasn't such a good idea

Love on the set may seem like a good idea at the time, but when the film hits theaters and the romance fizzles -- maybe they'll think twice on the next set. Such is life for Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron.

The couple, who met while filming "I Am Number Four," are reportedly on less than friendly terms with Us Magazine even claiming that the "Glee" babe is "terrified" of her ex. While reps for the actors have obviously remained mum on the situation, don't expect Pettyfer to pipe up anytime soon either.

Zap2it caught up with Pettyfer at a round table promoting CBS Films' "Beastly" where he told us that he's taking a cue from his "Stormbreaker" costar, Ewan McGregor.

"Keep your personal life personal," he says of the advice McGregor once gave him. "Keep your work separate."

Let's just say we aren't expecting him to shack up with fellow newly single "Beastly" co-star, Vamessa Hudgens anytime soon.
