'True Blood's' Joe Manganiello plays it cool on 'Superman' reboot casting hype

After having to clear up some statements that he made at a fan convention last year, "True Blood" werewolf, Joe Manganiello, has clearly learned some lessons about acting coy when it comes to the talk of him playing "The Man of Steel" in the "Superman" reboot scheduled for release next year.

"That's not really up to me at this point," he tells Extra after they asked about the casting rumors. "It's out there in the ether, so we'll see."

He then adds, "I would be honored. I love [the film's director] Zach Snyder. I love [producer] Christopher Nolan. So, you know, I'd be honored to if they choose to do that."

But, Manganiello plays it just right. When Extra asks him how bad the waiting to find out if he has the role is, he plays it off.

"It's not so much waiting for me," he says. "Because I'm back shooting Season 4 of 'True Blood'"

That's right, Joe. Keep it cool and let them know you aren't twiddling your thumbs waiting for an answer. Or wearing a red cape as you run around your living room.

Wish they would use Tom Welling and the other Smallville actors!

Gross. He is no Superman.
