'Thor,' 'Captain America' pics: More images from Marvel's 2011 movies
You're aware that Marvel Studios has a couple of big movies hitting theaters in the spring and summer, right? If you're not, it's not for lack trying on the studio's part. After releasing the first image of Chris Evans in costume from "Captain America: The First Avenger" late last week, Marvel followed up Monday (Jan. 17) with another still from the movie -- and threw in a new shot from its other 2011 release, "Thor," as well.
The "Thor" shot, featuring star Chris Hemsworth as the Norse god wielding his mighty hammer (and looking rather upset at something), is up above. The new photo of Evans as the World War II-era Steve Rogers/Captain America is after the jump.
All that plus the leaked image of Andrew Garfield as "Spider-Man" has made for a rather busy week of Marvel movie promotion.
Here's the new "Captain America" shot:
"Thor" is scheduled for release on May 6, and "Captain America" follows on July 22. Hemsworth and Evans will play the characters again in "The Avengers" in 2012.

Wow. Thor looks royally constipated. Cap looks like an s/m leather fetishist. Actually, Thor's costume looks acceptable, but CA ... That's the best they could come up with? The more I see of Cap the less hope I have for the film.
Those are both remarkably bad costumes. If this is the best they can do as teasers it does not bode well for the movies.
Wow, lousy costumes. Really don't care for either. I am beginning to have doubts about both movies. Thor for several reasons - stemming from what I saw in that terrible first trailer and now Captain America's trailer being pulled for not being good enough. Also the idea that Evans said he based his character on a boyscout. My son was a boyscout - but not Captain America. I am conflicted about even bothering to see either movie at all.
wow, you guys are waaaay too harsh about the outfits. would you chowderheads be happier with the rubber ears from the abysmal Corman flick? i bet you would. its about the characters after all. dont like what you see so far? oh well. chowdwerheads.
