Steve Harvey addresses ex-wife's YouTube assault
Steve Harvey is back on American soil and addressing the scandal surrounding his ex-wife's YouTube tirade."I've seen this many times before," he says on his syndicated radio show Monday (Jan. 24). "I know the truth... the part that's hurtful in here is my wife and children have to be drugged [sic] into this."
"If you're gonna be vindictive then go ahead and just aim it at me. But my son is coming in the room crying, and that's also her son," he continues. "So why you would even do this... I don't even understand the purpose of it. I got you're mad, but 12 years ago? That's what we doing now?"
The comedian goes on to defend his duties as a father to respect the mother of his child, and to not speak negatively of her. Aside from a few jabs here and there, of course.
"I have custody of the child," Harvey explains. "Which, you've gotta wonder how that happened..."
Mary Shackelford-Harvey recently posted a series of three videos online, in which she accuses her ex-husband of being a serial cheater, taking their son and leaving her with nothing.
"I'm-a [sic] divorce you, and I'm-a ruin you. That was the promise that was made," he recalls of the couple's 2005 split.
For their child's sake, we're glad Steve is (kind of) taking the high road. But somehow we don't think that either of these two are in the right, here.
If we had taken the advice of his relationship books, we'd probably be asking for a refund right about now.

He got custody because she didn't have a lawyer. There's every indication that he did cheat on her but then he probably cheated with her on his first wife.
Why anyone gave him money on a book about relationships is beyond me. No degree, no expertise and a lot of condescension toward women.
I have no clue whats been going on but either way they both should prob stop acting like they are in high school.
Steve we the people know the truth…One truth that you are covering up…. You should be ashamed of your self. Now really, Mary is lying on you….Yea….The truth flows….and Mary did not hesitate in telling her story……You go Mary…..Expose Steve for who he really is…..

anyone who has listened to his show has heard him say that he has made mistakes, and learned from them.
I hope they can straighten this conflict that is going on out, they have a son that needs both parents.
to the ex-wife, I desire you to get better not bitter. I have been in your shoes . It truly hurts to see a man that you were married to become this wonderful person that he could not or would not become when he was with you. This does not make you a lesser woman.
To get the victory you must truly forgive him and get better. Work on you life style and become even better than the woman you were when the both of you were together.
Steve appears to have gotten his life together and has tried to be a better man than he was when he was with you which is sad.
Just remember! We all have to pay for our bad choices, cheating has consequences and you just wait. You will see it.
I want you to come to know Jesus Christ. He will truly heal the all the hurt that you have for Steve. Give this hurt to him. Let Him heal you. He will, He can and He wants to.
To Steve: 12 years ago is just like yesterday to Mary because she is still hurting.
Your books are good because you have learned well. No more bashing of each other.

Steve Harvey is a trip. He actually has a manhood camp for boys....go figure. I hope he does right by her because she is obviously telling the truth.
Mr. Harvey has stated he made many mistakes in his past. He doesnt proclaim to b a saint. He is a changed man, people can say whatever they want his actions will speak for him. Is it possible to change, GOD has given us an out. We can confess our sins to him an ask for forgiveness. HIS GRACE AND MERCY ARE SUFFICIENT. I dont proclaim to b no holy roller but i know we can ask for forgivness and strive to be the person GOD wants us to be. Continue your walk

Steve Harvey admitted to his wrongdoings in several interviews on TV, including his testimony on Christian networks. His ex-wife is being vindictive (justifiably so? Maybe! Maybe not!!). He's not claiming that he was a saint.
But, if Steve was such a hound, why does she still have his last name? I know most divorced women keep their ex-husbands' last name. But, that usually for professional purposes or simply because they don't feel like changing their documentation.
But, it doesn't appear that she was penniless. If you don't want no more of Steve, FINE!! Drop the last name. It ain't like you're Tina Turner or something. It sounds as if she's angry that Steve got his life straight and has changed but did so AFTER the divorce and now has a new wife.
