'Spider-Man' picture: Andrew Garfield flashes web-shooters, casts a skinny shadow
There's an awful lot of excitement for the upcoming reboot of the "Spider-Man" film franchise, directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield. So now that we have another picture, we have even more analysis. MTV News (via Movieline) posts the latest set photo with closer examination of the anatomy of the new Spidey costume. And among the new details (look at that mask!), one of the metallic web-shooters is now fully in view.
These little machines seem to make it very clear that the web-shooting in the new version will be of some artificial concoction (à la the comic book) and not a mutation-generated emission (as in the Tobey McGuire version)
Also? We're sort of loving how well this iteration of "Spider-Man" will be able to play up the nerdier aspects of Peter Parker. Just look at Garfield's skinny shadow.

Looks pretty cool, but where are the webbings on the costume?
Oh wow! not good, it looks like a kid in a Halloween costume.
Wow, looks like a cheap high school costume. The two pictures released so far show that the costume is ugly.
That suit is not an accurate representation of what we'll see on screen. It will be modified with computer effects and look very different in terms of color and detail once they're done with it. The officially released picture of Garfield in the suit is probably a much better indicator.
Zap2it is turning into such a horse-and-pony show. It's TOBEY MAGUIRE not TOBY McGUIRE.
I hope they do modify it some with cgi it looks terrible

I like the way they're portraying the character this time AND I like that there's now web shooters. Parker WAS a skinny geek and I'm really looking forward to seeing him run out of web fluid (hopefully at the worst time possible). The appeal of Spider-man was that he wasn't your typical he-man hero.
andrew garfield looks so sexy in that suit - i wish spiderman had a scene where he makes out with both treadaway twins - YUMMY!!!
Are you sure this is actually Garfield and not a stuntman?
