Regis Philbin possibly told Kelly Ripa about retirement 15 minutes before air
Kelly Ripa was visibly saddened when co-host Regis Philbin announced his upcoming retirement from the show during the Jan. 18 broadcast -- but if rumors are to be believed, her composure is even more impressive.
TMZ, through whatever odd means they seem to come up with this stuff, reports that Philbin broke the news to Ripa a mere 15 minutes before air time.
Ripa is apparently "stunned" but "not upset" -- and the source they're citing says the last-minute reveal wasn't personal. He just didn't want the news to leak early.

Just because this is the internet doesn't mean you should ignore proper spelling and grammar. It should be "personal".
And is Regis implying that Kelly would have leaked the info if he had told her sooner?
does it matter how long before we knew that Kelly knew? Not really. We all might have known that Regis wasn't going to be doing the show forever.
Trust me folks...now she's going to lobby pretty damn hard for her husband to get this gig and get the full endorsement of Regis...he's a ND guy and has a good chemistry with her so by the fall, husband and wife will be hosting this gig.
Mark Kelly's husband is the one. They do great when they do the show it gives it a complete different flavor. Will miss Regis shouting and gruffness and stupid use of electronics. He has been a great host I never miss a show and tape it if I can't watch it live.
