'Lost' fans love winning Mega Millions numbers. Cursed? Not so much.

winning-mega-millions-numbers-hurley-lost.jpgTuesday night (Jan. 4) saw one of the largest Mega Millions drawings in history. Last-minute ticket sales in the 41 states plus Washington D.C. put the final jackpot at $380 million. The two winners, one in Washington and one in Idaho who both have yet to come forward, will each receive $190 million.

But in a fun twist of fate, four of the six numbers matched Hurley's cursed lottery numbers from "Lost." Not only that, but if you played the "Lost" numbers in order from least to greatest, that made 42 the matching Mega Ball number, which means every "Lost" ticket played that way is worth $150, according to Mega Millions payout rules.

The winning numbers were 4, 8, 15, 25 and 47, with 42 being the Mega Ball number. The "Lost" numbers of 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 were not so cursed for 9,078 tickets, according to the AP and "Lost" creator Damon Lindelof's Twitter.

Did you play the Mega Millions drawing? Did you play the "Lost" numbers?

We always joke about if those numbers came up -- but we usually do instant-pick. I realize now how mad I'd have been if those six numbers ACTUALLY hit!

So if all six numbers had hit, the payout would've been about $40,000. Not too bad, though would probably be a nightmare for the lottery department, at least a few would try to sue because they feel entitled to be millionaires.
