'Homeless DJ' Ted Williams' golden voice goes from viral to in demand
He's no Justin Bieber, but Ted Williams also owes his burgeoning success on YouTube.
The former radio announcer who hit rock bottom after falling victim to drugs and alcohol was just another homeless guy on a Columbus, Ohio street until he was featured in a video that captured the hearts of its viewers (and listeners).
"I have a God given gift of voice. I'm an ex-radio announcer that has fallen on hard times," reads the hand-written cardboard sign Williams holds in the video. At the request of a Columbus Dispatch reporter, Williams trots out a few radio catchphrases and announcements with his golden voice.
It's rather jarring to hear that voice come from Williams, but that's the magic of radio. His voice has earned him the nickname the "Homeless DJ."
Since the video was posted Monday (Jan. 3), it's gone viral, drawing more than 4 million views.
Fans of Williams will be happy to hear that he's been fielding numerous job offers, including voice work for Quicken Loans Arena and the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports the Sporting News. At this point, it's just a matter of which job(s) he wants.
Aww, happy ending.

I saw his mom waiting for him at the airport and another media outlet took him away and he never saw her. Then she was on the CBS morning show while he was on The Today show.It shouldn't be that hard for them to meet up.
