First look at Chris Evans in full Captain America costume tries to steal 'Spider-Man's' thunder
Clearly not content to let "Spider-Man" and Andrew Garfield have their day to bask in superhero costume praise, "Captain America: The First Avenger" decided to release the first full look at Chris Evans in his Captain America costume, via EW. The producers clearly wanted a different look than the classic Captain America costume, which consisted of bold colors and a mask with wings (it seems the wings are painted onto the mask this time). Director Joe Johnston says, "You can't take him seriously in his flag pajamas."
The end result is similar to an airman's jumpsuit. Costume designer Anna Sheppard reveals Evans likes to put on the suit all by his lonesome (it takes about 25 minutes). "He likes to do it all by himself. I think it helps him feel like a super hero."
We have to say, we think we prefer the new Spider-Man costume. But hey, that's just us. What do you think, Zappers?

horrible--what on earth were they thinking--
and this is coming from a 35 year loyal Marvel fan--horrible--how could they screw up so badly on the most important character in the stable--UNBELIEVABLE--I am so angry!!!
half the people who would go to parties dressed as Captain America would look better than this--people get PAID to do this?? and given the chance to create the screen vision for one of the most beloved heroes of the past 60 years?? this is unbelievable --looks like total crap--this movie may well sink the entire Marvel line--what were they thinking?????????????
Well, that looks like crap.
I like it. It's probably a mark I costume.
Love it. Looks very World War II, which is what it is supposed to look like. This is the origins story, remember?
Since we know Johnston has a condescending attitude concerning what Captain America stands for, is it any surprise the costume ends up like this?
Pity. This would have been my favorite character from the Marvel stable to see come to the movies again.
That's one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time! And unfortunately unless this is a comedy that's NOT the reaction I should be having. The fact the guy appears to be, ahem, pitching a tent doesn't help, either.
Cant wait to see it.
I thought it was supposed to have a kind of retro WWII feel. That looks like a padded romper room outfit.
