'Fantastic Four' death revealed, Human Torch snuffed
The folks at Marvel might want to start looking into a new alliterative moniker, because "The Fantastic Four" will soon be no more.
After recent teases that the comic book franchise would lose a major character in an upcoming issue, The New York Times confirms that it's Human Torch, Johnny Storm.
The Gray Lady writes, "Johnny Storm's life is taken amid a massive battle that writer Jonathan Hickman has been scripting for a year-and-half."
Johnny's last showing in the "The Fantastic Four," issue 588, will also be the last in the franchise -- though it seems clear the remaining characters will carry on in another incarnation.
But will they really have to go it alone? Maybe not. As in the world of soap operas, death in the comics frequently lack permanence.
"While I will never discount that a character can come back from the dead because it is one of the staples of comic book story telling," says Marvel chief creative officer Joe Quesada. "I'm not going to tell you if he will, or when he will and if he does, how he will, but I can assure you that it's going to be very, very interesting and not what anyone expects."

Sad, this is all the big two do now huge events which are supposed to change their perspective universes forever and in the end they do nothing.
Look at Cap and Batman supposedly dying, both returns were stupid and although Marvel claimed the entire thing was years in the making, they had to delay the final edition.
I'll skip Marvel is no longer worth my waste of time.

The title on the main page was "Which Fantastic 4 member is no more", and you thought by clicking you were NOT going to be spoiled? you are foolish.
I think it's great, and actually a bit surprising to me. Let's see how they play this out.
Stan Lee and the makers of Marvel Comics should reconsider this decision too kill off or remove Johnny Storm from the Fantastic 4. I grew up reading this comic book. They are a perfect mix. Together they defeated the Hulk in FF 166 and 167 years ago. I'll never forget the issues. Thing and Hulk teamed up! It was great! But, The thing came to his senses and rejoined the group. Once the She Hulk joined but still it was not the same.. Keep the Fantastic four the way it is, Please!!
It's a sign of how many years I have been reading the funny books when these situations crop up and my first thought is "hmmm, who haven't they killed off lately" when trying to guess who is going to be whacked. (calling them "funny books" is also a sign of how long I have been reading them, but I digress). My guess was always the Human Torch, not just because they haven't screwed with him lately so he is due, but because they have already killed and resurrected the OTHER (golden age) Human Torch so many times that it was clearly time to *ahem* pass the torch...
That's just stupid. Marvel is so off track.

Titling the article "Fantastic Four Death Revealed" and putting a picture above it of the character who dies is a spoiler whether you follow the link or not. And, I agree, not cool. But come on, of course he's going to come back. They made a big deal about Captain America's death a few years ago, and how they weren't going to bring him back. Guess who's back? Character death has become one of the most boring things in comics because it's one of the most predictable.
did you have to have a picture of the human torch next to 'fantastic four death revealed" on your home page! you could have just had a picture of all 4 members, but no you had to ruin who died for people that did not want to know and were just visiting your website
