'The View': Joy Behar gets crowned as a Miss America judge
The Miss America pageant returns to network TV in January on ABC, and the network used "The View" Wednesday (Dec. 8) to help promote it.But hey, at least Joy Behar got some new jewelry out of it.
Current Miss America Caressa Cameron appeared on the show to announce the lineup of judges for the 2011 pageant -- including Behar, who also received an official state crown from Cameron. "I always wanted one of those," she said. "I'll never take it off."
(Which is a lie, apparently. The crown was gone by the time the next segment started.)
Behar also says her daughter asked her how she could call herself a feminist if she's judging a beauty contest, which gave Cameron the opportunity to explain that Miss America is a scholarship competition that isn't just about looks.
The other judges for the Jan. 15 pageant are Marilu Henner, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Tony Dovolani, country singer Mark Wills, former Miss America Debbye Turner Bell, designer Taryn Rose and -- our favorite choice of all -- "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry.
