'Melrose Place's' Amy Locane indicted in fatal June car crash

Amy Locane of "Melrose Place" has been indicted for aggravated manslaughter and assault by automobile in a fatal New Jersey car accident that occurred in June of 2010. The actress admitted to police that she had consumed several glasses of wine before getting behind the wheel.
Locane's 2007 Chevy Tahoe crashed into a 2007 Mercury Milan as it was turning into a driveway, killing passenger Helene Seeman and injuring her husband, according to police.
The 38-year-old's lawyer, Bill Zwillman tells People that he was surprised by the aggravated manslaughter charge. "I don't think it's appropriate. We are going to fiercely defend it," he says.
Regarding details of the crash, Zwillman continues, "The other driver made a left hand turn on a road where Amy Locane was driving straight. Ms. Locane was followed by ... individuals for nearly four miles at high speeds. The woman who followed her chased her right into the accident scene."
If convicted of both charges, the mother of two could face a maximum of 30 years in prison. She is currently free on $50,000 bail.
