Kelly Ripa's crutches don't keep her from 'Live'
Kelly Ripa has been hobbling around the "Live with Regis and Kelly" set for the past few days, the result of an injury to her hip.Ripa told the audience this week that she has a stress fracture in her hip -- the "femoral neck," to be exact. She can't put much weight on it, so she's been getting around with the aid of crutches (though she's still sporting high heels) and griping about her relative lack of mobility.
"It looks much worse than it is," Ripa said on Monday's (Dec. 6) show. She thought she had torn a muscle, she says, but after visiting the doctor ("I was really just there for the painkillers"), she found out she had the stress fracture -- most likely brought on by running and her daily exercise routine. The treatment, which Ripa is decidedly not excited about, is three to six weeks of rest.
"That's gonna kill you!" co-host Regis Philbin says.
We hope not. And we also hope she's figured out how to adjust her crutches based on heel height by now.
Here's the video of Ripa explaining her injury from earlier this week.
