Katy Perry on becoming Mrs. Brand, tells Helen Mirren to 'step off my man'
Katy Perry's about to get a new name to go along with that rock on her left hand. The songstress stops by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Wednesday (Dec. 8) to dish about becoming Mrs. Russell Brand.
Katy tells Ellen that although she's currently "in the process" of having Perry legally changed to Brand, she already prefers to go by her hubby's name.
"If I'm at an event or something like that and they want special attention they go, 'Mrs. Brand!' and I go swoosh [looks back]."
Also stopping by the show on Wednesday is another leading lady in Russell's life, co-star Helen Mirren, who told Ellen that she is "just very jealous of Katy being married to him."
Regarding the Dame's crush on her husband, Katy says with a laugh, "She needs to step off my man," quickly adding, "Actually I kind of don't mind that someone else takes some of the responsibility because it's a lot of work."
Good thing Helen's around to give Russell a bath every once in a while ...
Helen and Russell take on Shakespeare's "The Tempest," in theaters Dec. 10. They will also co-star in the comedy "Arthur," which is expected to be released in 2011.
